My Family's Story Of Ovarian Cysts Infertility Risks.

By Amanda Clark

There are a number of things that you should know about ovarian cysts infertility. Infertility is most likely to occur if there are complications with ovarian cysts, and not always a result of the very first cyst you get. My family suffers from ovarian cysts, we have overcome the problems, and we have children.

Ovarian cysts are not synonymous with infertility; you can avoid complications with cysts through regular checkups with your doctor. Suffering from cysts can often by a family occurrence, just like cancer or heart conditions. When you are concerned about ovarian cysts, you should know that you are not alone.

My mother only suffered from ovarian cysts after a few miscarriages right before menopause; however, she had never had them before those incidents. Some women experience problems before having children. My sister who had many ovarian cysts, even had to have many removed, before the birth of her first child. She has had very few problems since having her children.

The only cyst I had was years ago, and it was easily removed as an outpatient procedure. I too have children, and I have had no more cysts. I make a point to always keep my checkups with the doctor. This enables the doctor to be sure I am not developing any complications with our history of ovarian cysts.

My youngest sister has never had an ovarian cyst, and she has always used oral contraceptives. Birth control, or hormone medicines, can prevent the body from developing cysts, as your body will not produce follicles.

It is important to remember that a number of families share risk factors such as cancer and heart disease, this is similar to the risk of ovarian cysts causing infertility. If you are at risk of this condition, you should visit your doctor and consider birth control pills to reduce the chance of the cysts. Keep all your appointments and you may not have any problems with ovarian cyst infertility.
